I have taught a wide range of courses on East Asian studies and history, including Classical/Literary Chinese language, at UCLA, Stanford University, and Cornell University. In 2013 I began teaching in the Department of Asian Studies at the University of British Columbia.

In 2024-25, I am teaching Writing and Culture in East Asia, an advanced undergraduate class, and The Profession of Asian Studies, a proseminar for PhD students.
